"Okay,
so last night was sooo sweet! Thank you sooo much for being the courageous
and instinctual woman that you are.
You make women feel spontaneously gorgeous without a mirror
and makeup, sexy because that is what we are, and beautiful because we realize
how infinite our potential is to move and groove and connect with goddesses
from time past.
Your intention is sooo powerful: May women all across
our community find you and your sensational soul.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Lana, for being
such an amazing friend and making me come out ..... Sometimes our friends
know just what works! I feel amazing!" In
loving kindness, Jen xo
"Thank you for shaping the dance of life."
"I loved the dance. I was very reluctant before coming... it was
so joyful to be so free and I DID feel free!"
"Love you lots! I missed your wisdom and love. Love how you create
a sacred space and how you help me see the Divine in me."
"Thank you for the wonderful experience. I felt sensations like
I've never felt before. I found the experience very therapeutic." various

"Lana,
I would like to thank you for your efforts in introducing yoga to my group
of crazy friends. When you first approached me about a men's only introduction
to yoga class, I was intrigued but did not know what kind of response I
would get from my colleagues.
Not only were they interested in the idea and signed up
for the classes, we all have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
I know I will continue when you bring back the program
in the fall. I have a lot to learn but it has been quite fun learning." Scott

Partner Yoga : Top

"I
discovered the world of yoga in June 2006 and have fully embraced it. The
studio is an oasis, and the instruction of Lana, Willa and Jen is outstanding.
They've taught me how to reach a whole new level of being, and I've discovered
more about my self and body than I thought possible.
On February 13th, 2006, my husband and I participated
in Partner's Yoga workshop. (It was wonderful!) My husband, Brent, was quite
willing to join me. I hoped he'd enjoy the evening, and wanted him to meet
Lana and see where I spend a lot of time. Although Brent had never before
tried Yoga, he thoroughly enjoyed it.
Lana made the evening very intimate and warm. There was
proper space for all 9 couples, small candles scattered on the floor and
subdued lighting ... a very romantic mood. We began by breathing and centering
on our own, and then progressed with our partners. Next, we explored massaging
each other's hands with oil (very sensual!).
We then began postures. I was nervous that Brent would
have difficulty following cues, but this never happened: Lana is so adept
at cueing that you could do the asana with closed eyes. I always enjoy practicing
postures, but was taken pleasantly by surprise by the wonderful feeling
of performing a posture with my partner! It's hard to describe the feelings
and sensations of entering into Warrior One back-to-back with your partner,
arms laying on top of one another. It is a whole new dimension to perform
that posture and breathe while at the same time feeling your partner breathe
and move.
The class concluded with Shavasana and it was a wonderful
feeling to have someone to share it with. The workshop ended with sensual
food and fruit. This was an enjoyable experience that we both hope to participate
in again. Brent commented that Lana should incorporate this class into the
weekly schedule.
Life is so busy and hectic; Brent and I are grateful for
the time we were able to spend together reconnecting. Thank you, Lana, for
helping us to do that."

"Both my husband and I enjoyed the Partner Yoga Class immensely!
Not only was it relaxing, rejuvinateing and sensual, it was FUN! Just
when you think you know your partner?? This class will teach you a little
bit more about them. LOVED IT, sign us up for the next one!"

"Thanks for the couples yoga night.
It was the most romantic and special Valentine's day I ever had. My boyfriend and I enjoyed working together on the different partner moves. You added that special romantic touch to the yoga by helping to set-the mood with the candles, strawberries and truffles....just an exquisite experience! Let us know the next time you have another couples yoga... hopefully before next Valentine's Day we would love to attend again.

Prenatal Yoga :

"I was in your prenatal yoga and just wanted to share the news of my new daughter: Maeva Sandra Traynor was born Jan 22, at 3:12pm, weighing 9lbs. 9oz.
I accomplished exactly what I wanted and had a natural, drug-free birth. For my first birth, I did use the gas and demerol, because I panicked a bit and maybe wasn't prepared enough (didn't know what to expect). I couldn't wait to give it another try this time. I kept my head in the game this time. My mantra was: Accept the sensations, do not try to escape it. I really sunk into it and my breathing, and didn't try to make all the pain go away. I got to 7 centimetres with very little discomfort. I focused intently through a tough but short two hour transition from 7cm - 10cm. And pushed the big girl out in 12 minutes. She was placed on my chest, and I can still feel the warm, wetness of her, and the smell of the amniotic fluid. Hmmm... maybe a home birth for #3... in a couple years (this body needs to recover and make lots of milk). The doctors and nurses told me I was a poster child for natural birth (us ladies totally get bragging rights after birthing a child), the whole experience was amazing.
Here I am smiling from all the great natural endorphins; Maeva at 2 weeks; and some birth art I did a few days before her birth (open cervix open!).
Thank you for the great classes and the chakra stones, they are a special gift that I will give her one day." Andrea Traynor |
Yoga classes (general) :

"I
started to learn yoga about 3 years ago, and have tried classes in gyms
and private studios in Oakville, Sudbury, Toronto, Guelph and even New Delhi.
Some of my best yoga experiences have been at the OM Yoga Space, where classes
are just the right balance of useful instruction and peaceful, harmonious
atmosphere for me. The instructors inform students of the physical and spiritual
holistic healing that can take place through yoga practice without entering
into too much disciplinary doctrine. The instructors' beautiful voices and
the great choice of music also make these classes flow smoothly. I believe
I am gaining physical and mental strength and flexibility, reducing stress
and feeling generally more happy by practicing yoga at OM Yoga Space."
Madhur
Anand, PhD
"Every class encourages the importance of being "in tune" with oneself, accepting that a personal modification to a particular pose, for instance, is perfectly acceptable, allowing individuality to weave its way into the grace of class movement and intentional focus ... There is always the promise of building potential from one week to the next.
It has extended an improved awareness of the importance of breathing with purpose; clearing the mind and, yes, body, of life's clutter and chatter. And it has offered me subtle understanding that there is always a fine line between effort and ease but that the key is to know when too much or little of either may mean a less desirous outcome.
But just as importantly, it is teaching me more about ability and limitation, both real and perceived - and trying to know the difference." Lori Horner
"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for the difference
that you have made in my life. For some time, I have purchased yoga DVD's
(or VHS tapes) and books and attended some classes. Yoga has been something
that has intrigued me... I think because of what I have read about the
holistic peace it can bring to someone. In our fast paced, confused society,
we need an outlet of some kind. I am sooooo happy to have found your classes.
They provide me with that outlet.
It's difficult for me to explain how wonderful your
classes have left me feeling. The atmosphere in your studio is most relaxing
and calming. I can feel your passion when you do the classes. It really
touches me very deeply. I find the Kundalini Yoga is exhausting (lack
of a better word), physically and mentally, but leaves me feeling refreshed
and ready to face the real world. I have done a few other classes and
enjoyed them as much (in a different way, though).
I find the visits to your studio are addictive. I had
to miss last Tuesday and was very saddened (but thought of everyone while
I was at work). Because I live an hour away, I rarely drive to Sudbury
if I only have one thing to do. I find this is not the case with my Yoga.
I wish I could attend daily, and hope to maybe do so. Although I haven't
graduated to the place to practice at home, I have found that the mantras
help me through my day. I repeat Sat Nam and hear you say "your body is
only a vessel, there are no limitations", whenever things get physically
or mentally draining. ... And it works!
Thank you again... I hope that I can continue to work
on positive changes in this direction. I want to learn so much more (diet,
meditating, etc)."

Sacred Intimacy : |
"These
sessions have been invaluable in helping us define what is keeping us apart
and in helping us map a way to reach each other again. Finding ways to by-pass
words, with your guidance, enabled us to discover new ways of communicating
and relating.
Over the weeks it became apparent that while we had been
searching for a bridge to bring us together over the river that separated
us, what we really needed was to plunge into the river and meet in the middle.
You gave us the courage to take the plunge and kept us anchored and safe
as we swam out over our heads.
While I don't know where our new path will take us, there
is comfort in knowing that we are working together once again." Leslee
& Tim Blatt (Sept 2008) |
